Manuel Antonio empezó como un pueblito que tenía un lindo parque nacional al lado. A medida que el parque nacional se hizo más conocido, hoteles se empezaron a abrir. Dado que el pueblo no es muy amplio, hoteles se empezaron a construir en el camino al parque Manuel Antonio, y muchos de ellos aprovecharon las vistas panorámicas que este lugar ofrece.
